Corpus Christi Mixer Brings Coastal Bend Alumni Network Together
The event was held on Saturday, March 26 at Vino Mio Social Club
This past weekend, the Department of Alumni and Parent Relations, in collaboration with Gulf Coast Federal Credit Union, hosted the Wine & Baseball Alumni Mixer in Corpus Christi. The event served as an opportunity for the Coastal Bend Area Alumni Network to mingle with fellow Cardinals and support the UIW Baseball Team as they faced the TAMU-CC Islanders.
Held at Vino Mio Social Club, graduates and community members met fellow Corpus Christi area Cardinals and UIW leadership in attendance. Dr. Thomas Evans, UIW president; Dr. Christopher Alvarado, UIW Alumni Association president; Richard Kimbrough, vice president of External Affairs, Dr. Lisa McNary, dean of Alumni & Parent Relations and Richard Duran, athletic director interacted with guests and provided updates on the state of the University.
“It was great seeing so many members of our Cardinal community come together,” said McNary. “We haven’t been able to get together for nearly two years and this was a great opportunity for everyone to catch up. We love our Corpus Christi area alumni!.”
2012 MBA graduate Jeremy Garza, who currently serves as the President/CEO of Gulf Coast Federal Credit Union, was an integral part in making this event possible. Garza is continually looking for ways to get more alumni involved with their alma mater.
“Jeremy Garza and Gulf Coast Federal Credit Union did an amazing job in helping us put this event together. We are so grateful for his support and are looking forward to more events in the near future,” added McNary.
The event culminated with door prizes, giveaways and the Cardinals baseball game over at TAMU-CC’s Chapman Field. For latest information regarding upcoming alumni events, visit: https://alumniandfriends.uiw.edu/
